There are a few questions that I get asked on a regular basis, so I've put together this page answering my most commonly asked questions.

Are your products vegan and cruelty free?
Yes! Being vegan and only using cruelty free products myself, this is something that's very important to me. Every single one of my products is and will always be 100% vegan. I will never test my products on animals or ask anyone to do so on my behalf and I ensure that every ingredient I use in my products is cruelty free.

Where are your products made?
All of my products are hand made by me at my home studio in Cornwall, UK.

Why soy?
Soy wax is an amazing natural candle wax that is sustainable and biodegradable. Soy wax is also far slower burning than it's synthetic counterpart paraffin wax, meaning your candles are much longer lasting! Paraffin is also made from petroleum which when burned as a candle, emits black soot and toxic fumes, similar to those from a diesel exhaust. Soy wax on the other hand is made from natural soybeans and is clean burning and non-toxic. The soy wax I use in my candles is developed and produced right here in the UK and my suppliers get their soybeans from sustainable sources in the US. I also use a soy base for my diffusers and room sprays due to the fact that it is sustainable, non-toxic, non-flammable and an amazing carrier for scent.

What's the difference between fragrance oil and essential oil?
Essential oils are extracted directly from plants whereas fragrance oils are created from compounds that do not exist in nature.

Why do you use both fragrance oils and essential oils?
For me, they have very different purposes and I like to make the most of both. Fragrance oils are far more complex and can create aromas that are just not possible using essential oils alone. I often use a blend of both to create a unique yet non-synthetic smelling scent. Essential oils are natural and often have amazing benefits. Which is why I created my aromatherapy range, scented using only 100% essential oils and designed with a purpose in mind, such as to 'uplift'.  A common misconception is that because fragrance oils are not natural, they must be bad, however, this is just not the case. Everything on this planet is a chemical and often components found in essential oils are actually more harmful than those found in fragrance oils. Just because something is natural does not mean it's better, so be sure to do your own research to make sure you're comfortable with what you're bringing into your home.

Are your products pet safe?
As far as I know, yes my products are pet safe. I make all of my products at my home studio where my dog Penny also hangs out, I would never have anything around her that I thought could possibly be harmful. However, please remember that pets (especially cats and dogs) are more sensitive to fragrance than us due to their strong sense of smell. Never shut a pet in a room with a candle or diffuser, they need to be able to remove themselves from the area if the fragrance is too strong for them. If you're bringing a new product into your home, please just be sensible and keep an eye on your pet. If they are particularly sensitive to fragrance, they may start coughing or you could see some eye irritation such as redness or streaming. If you notice anything unusual about your pet, remove the product immediately and if the symptoms persist, please contact your vet.

What steps do you take to be as eco friendly as possible?
Making as little impact on the planet as possible is really important to me and it's something that I am constantly working on. I only source materials from the UK, to keep our carbon footprint as low as possible and to ensure that they have been ethically produced. My products all have as little packaging as possible and where it is needed for posting items out, I use environmentally responsible packaging that is all 100% recyclable or biodegradable.
